Mediation and Arbitration
Bert King works with businesses and individuals statewide who seek to resolve their disputes and conflicts economically in a controlled envrionment, as opposed to allowing a jury of strangers to decide their case after an expensive trial. He has mediated and arbitrated cases involving personal injuries, wrongful death, property damages, estate disputes, real estate contracts, libel and slander, business contract disputes, the division of real estate among co-owners, partnership dissolution and defective construction.
Mr. King formed Lakeside Medation, LLC in 2016 for two reasons: to implement techniques he has developed in over 25 years of conducting mediations and arbitrations and to build a team of highly respected and talented mediators. With Lakeside's group of registered neutrals, you can count on highly skilled assistance to help resolve your case.
Personal Injury Law
Mr. King handles a variety of claims and lawsuits on behalf of people who have been seriously injured and on behalf of families who have lost a loved one due to automobile collisions, medical malpractice, plane crashes, defective products, injuries or death on the job, and other situations. He used to work for the insurance companies - defending them against the people who had been injured and families who had lost a loved one. Now he uses that experience to benefit his clients in their claims against the responsbile parties and their insurance companies. Mr. King requires no fee up front and only charges the client a percentage of the recovery. (Contingent attorneys' fees refer only to those fees charged by the attorney for his legal services. Such fees are not permitted in all cases.) Mr. King will be happy to discuss your case with you at no cost and will make house and hospital visits at no charge.
Real Estate Law
Mr. King closes commercial, residential and agricultural real estate transactions. He advises co-owners on the division of jointly held properties and also draws up deeds, leases and other documents in connection with real estate transactions and timber sales. He also represents clients in IRC Section 1031 tax deferred real estate exchanges.
Mr. King provides a a variety of services to people concerning their estates and health care, including the preparation of Wills, "Living Wills," Powers of Attorney and other douments. He probates Wills and helps with the administration of estates where a person dies without a Will.
